Christina Rios is a dedicated educator and musician who plays a vital role in the Elgin Music Festival as the Tejano and Hispanic artist liaison. By day, Christina works as a Reading Interventionist with Catapult Learning, where her commitment to student success reflects her passion for fostering growth and understanding in the community.
Outside the classroom, Christina shines on stage as a vocalist for The Fi-Lytes, a dynamic ensemble blending funk, hip-hop, soul, R&B, and jazz. With her powerful voice and magnetic stage presence, Christina and her bandmates redefine musical collaboration, seamlessly bridging genres and captivating audiences with their unique sound. From smoky jazz lounges to electrifying neon-lit stages, The Fi-Lytes create a sonic tapestry that resonates across generations.
As a proud Elgin native, Christina brings a deep understanding of the local culture and a strong connection to the Hispanic and Tejano music scene. Her ability to foster meaningful relationships with artists and the community ensures that the Elgin Music Festival is a true celebration of the region’s rich heritage and diverse talent.
