Our Mission
Elgin Music Festival began as a grassroots experiment—a simple idea to bring people together through music while spotlighting the creativity already thriving in town. The first year proved there was real appetite for something homegrown, walkable, and welcoming. By the second year, the festival expanded in scope and confidence, drawing larger crowds, more artists, and deeper community involvement while staying true to its original spirit.
The festival is produced by Elgin Arts Association, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting arts, culture, and creative education in Elgin. Their mission is to create accessible opportunities for artists and meaningful experiences for the community—and Elgin Music Festival has become one of the most visible expressions of that work.
Elgin Music Festival is made possible through collaboration with the City of Elgin, along with downtown businesses, volunteers, sponsors, and residents who believe in building something together. The city’s support—paired with strong local partnerships—helps keep the festival rooted in downtown, open to the public, and reflective of the people it serves. The result is a weekend that feels less like an event you attend and more like one you’re part of.
